What Did You Name Your First Child?

We always knew we'd name our first child, Tyler. Unless we had a girl, of course. In that case, we had no idea. Thankfully, we didn't have to make that decision. Tyler it was for us. I'm not even sure where it came from. Probably Tyler Durden from fight club. We both heard the name and loved it. We did toy with the idea of Blake, but Blake Bernard sounded too much like a character from The Bold and The Beautiful. Tyler is very dramatic so maybe this would've suited him after all.
What about you? What did you name your first child, and why? We asked, you replied.
What did you name your first child and why?
"I feel like when you know, you know. We chose Logan for my son and it just felt soft and nice and not super common (to our knowledge - however, it ended up being the most popular name of his year in the end). It suited him. We hadn't even considered it until we were looking at him. Hallie was chosen for our daughter and again, we had just heard it and it stuck. She looked like a Hallie. Gotta go with your gut!" - Ashley
"Jordan. There used to be an F1 team called Jordan who was in pole position the day she was born." - Alice
"I wanted to name Kayla as Ayla, from Clan of the Cave Bear. Hubby suggested adding the 'K'. Once she was born and named we found out that 'Days of our Lives' had a character called Kayla, so everyone who watched that thought we named her after this character (much to my disgust)." - Carol
"Kaitlyn-Michelle. My late mom's second name was Kathleen and my late dad's name was Michael. So the name came from grandparents, but a softer and more feminine version." - Jennifer
"Christopher. We loved the meaning: 'Christ Bearer'. We also wanted a C name for our son as all of us had a name starting with C." - Chadé
"Isla Nicole - when I first heard it, it gave me prickles. The name Nicole came from a dream I had, a very vivid dream where I had a daughter called Nicole, never did see her but Daniel was calling for her and I knew she was our daughter." - Michelle
"Hannah has my mom’s second name ‘Ann’ in it, meaning grace, which is also my grandmother’s second name. We loved that it was biblical and a palindrome. We then chose another palindrome name, Ava, to match her sister and it means ‘bird’ - in memory of my dad who kept birds/had aviary’s. Birds were a big part of my childhood." - Jacqui
"He was going to be Adam. Then I had a dream that he was a school aged boy giving me his homework and had crossed out his name and wrote Noah instead. A few months later I had another dream where I had just given birth and went to put his name on his birth certificate, and Noah was already written on it." - Nour
“Our daughter’s name, Frankie, holds a deeply personal meaning for our family. Her father, Ryan, grew up with a younger brother whose middle name was Francis, though he never quite liked it, so instead, he proudly told everyone his middle name was Frankie. Sadly, we lost Ryan’s brother in an unfortunate incident before our own little Frankie was born. When it came time to choose a name for our daughter, we knew we wanted to honour his memory in a way that felt joyful and full of life, just like he was. Now, every time we say her name, it’s a gentle reminder that he’s still with us in some way, not in body, but in spirit. Our Frankie carries his name and his light forward, keeping a part of him woven into our everyday lives.” - Jessica
"We named her Maeli because we knew a little girl when we first started dating and she was adorable. Her name was Maeli. We fell in love with the name and when we looked it up it meant ‘beautiful’ in Chinese and 'calm' in Hawaiian. We then hyphenated it with Brooke. So, it’s Maeli-Brooke - Calm little stream." - Audrey
"I wanted a single syllable name which couldn't be shortened. After many name suggestions, I said to my husband, "I want a name like Josh." To which he replied, "Then why not Josh?" And so Josh it was. Except now everyone calls him Joshua which is worse than Joshua being shortened to Josh. But I'm happy with my choice. The names suits him." - Kyla
"Charlie Elvis Davy. I was an aupair for a little boy named Charlie who I absolutely fell in love with. And then both my husband and I love Elvis so we thought it would be a great second name." - Jadi
